His approach to general practice is built around a simple philosophy: prevent the fire rather than simply put it out. His experience caring for acutely unwell patients in emergency and internal medicine reinforced his belief that some of the most important work in medicine happens before a patient reaches hospital — and, when done well, can mitigate the need for hospital presentation altogether.

Dr Findlay comprehensively reviews patients with chronic health conditions every three months, aiming to identify emerging problems early, optimise treatment and address preventable deterioration.

His goal is to improve both healthspan and lifespan — helping patients live longer while remaining healthier, active and independent. He places particular importance on preventative cancer screening, cardiovascular and metabolic risk reduction, and lifestyle and medication optimisation.

Outside medicine, Dr Findlay enjoys skiing and spending time with his wife, two young daughters and two Chow Chows. He and his wife also share a background in ballroom dancing.

Anna Kantzides

Practice Nurse/Practice Director

Born and raised in Metung, Anna attended the local high school before setting off on a journey that would take her far from East Gippsland for over 20 years. She studied medical science and completed her PhD at Monash University, going on to begin a postdoctoral research program. When her now-husband's path led them to Perth, she followed — taking up a role as a lecturer in Medical Science at Curtin University, specialising in haematology and transfusion science.

Eventually, family brought her back to Melbourne, and from there, home called louder still — she found her way back to East Gippsland. In 2016, together with her husband Ari, they opened Advantage HealthPoint, where Anna played an instrumental role in building and managing the clinic from the ground up. In recent years, she sidestepped into nursing studies, and now splits her time between the clinic as a practice nurse and Bairnsdale Hospital.

Whatever the clinic needs, Anna is always ready to step in and support — a reflection of the dedication that's guided her whole career.

These roles provided her with valuable experience in professional services, customer service, problem-solving, administration, and working within complex organisational environments.

Her transition into healthcare began when she joined Advantage HealthPoint as a Medical Receptionist in 2022. Through her commitment to the practice and passion for creating a positive experience for both patients and staff, Elise progressed into the role of Practice Manager.

She works closely with the practice's directors, doctors, nurses and administrative team, with responsibilities spanning staff management, recruitment, practice operations, compliance, systems and processes, and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

What Elise enjoys most about her role is the opportunity to interact with the local community and build genuine relationships with patients and those who contribute to the practice.
